WOOF! Joan & Mano can't resist talking about their awesome dogs everywhere they go! Recently Mano visited Animal House calls with River the chocolate Labrador Retriever and Marley the Karelian Bear Dog. All three boys did great and Mano told their stories and had an opportunity to spread the word on adoption. So many people still do not understand what rescue is all about or still believe the old, silly myths , shows like Animal House Calls are a great venue for people to learn about rescue and adoption and we appreciated the opportunity to showcase River and Marley.

We urgently need foster homes. We cannot save these precious lives without your help. We provide the food, supplies and vet care... YOU provide the LOVE...

By opening your heart and home to a dog in need we are literally able to save that dog. A loving, patient home makes a huge difference to a dog in transition versus boarding. All expenses such as food, supplied and medical care are covered by us. Duration of a dog's stay can vary and can be prearranged.

Fostering is a truly rewarding experience and is a great way to get involved without taking on a long-term commitment yet experience a dog's love.

Best Friends Animal Society

November 2010: Joan and Mano the founders of The Dog Rescuers Inc. took a "dream trip" to Kanab, Utah to the Best Friends Animal Society.

They were accompanied by long time friend of The Dog Rescuers Andrea from Oakville Milton Humane Society as well as Jane a supporter and advocate of rescue. They participated in a week long workshop while in Utah and made lots of friends both two legged and four. Best Friends is truly a wonderful place. A very special thank you to Jane and big thanks to the dedicated and passionate staff and volunteers at Best Friends for making the stay so great and of course for all they do for the awesome animals. Big Thanks!
